We Are Hiring! Digital Marketing Officer

Women in Rugby League is seeking a creative and ambitious Digital Marketing Officer to become an integral and valued part of our team. The role will be working from home and will primarily focus on growing and developing our online community of Women in Rugby League supporters and inspiring the next generation of women and girls within the game. As part of a small team, the successful participant will also be expected to actively participate in key elements of the Women in Rugby League project, as we prepare and deliver the next leg of our mission.

In the role of the Digital Marketing Officer, you will create innovative, consistent, and imaginative content to raise the profile and credibility of Women in Rugby League through the delivery of the Heritage Lottery project “Pioneering Years”

We need someone who can create inventive and eye-catching content that stops people in their tracks, and develops stories and copy that inspires, entertains, and creates lasting memories. You’ll work closely with other stakeholders building strong relationships to ensure that messaging is consistent. 

You must have extensive knowledge and of using all social and digital media Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Canva and YouTube both personally and for business purposes. Have the ability to undertake edits of video footage and simple website updates. Experience of production of podcasts would be an advantage, with the view that the successful candidate will project manage this element of the project, however there will be support from our project partners where necessary.

 

We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking with a positive can-do attitude and who can work independently in their home environment. They must be passionate about elevating, promoting, and celebrating women's and girls' achievements. A team player who can engage with a varied range of stakeholders with the ability to manage their time effectively. 

There will be a transition period at the start of the role, in which the successful candidate will work alongside our current Digital Marketing Officer, to be brought up to speed on the project. 

Hours: 1 day per week, with the view to progressing to 2 days per week after the first month.

22 months fixed term 0.4 hours (Pro-rata £24,000)

About Women in Rugby League:

The Women in Rugby League project aims to uncover, document, and celebrate the history of the pioneering sportswomen who challenged rugby’s traditional male supremacy and paved the way for thousands of girls and young women to play the game today. It is a community hub to tell the stories and record the accurate history and heritage of women in rugby league. 

This is the place for anyone who wants to be inspired and have an interest to hear, see, and feel the role women have played in Rugby League and the history of women who have participated in the sports as players, coaches, match officials, and leading administrators.

It identifies the pioneering women and men who, despite opposition, succeeded in leading the game to where it is now.

The Women in Rugby League team is a small group of determined and passionate women, led by Project Co-ordinator and pioneer Julia Lee, and supported by the Women in Rugby League community of former players, support staff and dedicated fans.
