Amy Hardman

Amy’s family have always been Featherstone Rovers fans since she was little but didn’t come to games until 2006 when the family got involved in the club again, her Father used to play and had always been a fan. When the club was struggling financially about the time of the Super League and with them missing out he helped form The Friends of Featherstone, three business men that were brought in to inject some cash into the club, he got more and more involved and he is now chairman of the Rovers. Amy met her husband Ian Hardman, a signing her father made from Widnes, Ian played for Rovers for 10 years and now works for the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, coaching and is still a supporter at Featherstone Rovers.

In 2012 Amy applied and got the post of Learning Zone Manager, running a BBC Children In Need funded after school enrichment project, focusing on literacy, numeracy and ICT all linked to the club and full of children’s hands on learning activities, e.g. interviewing the head coach, measuring the pitch. Then after covering a maternity leave Amy took over the headship and runs the Foundation, the charity wing of the club. Overseeing the whole Foundation, the club tackles community engagement, health, education, social isolation, as well as rugby development. For example …”Rovers Tots, we see babies grow up with the club, babies that came to us in 2012 are starting to come to matches as supporters”. Dance Academy with about 60 members that perform at home games and other major sports events. IT and biscuits for the over 50’s that want to brush up on using their tablets, phones or computers as well as many other engagements.

Amy oversees the Women’s Super League Team, and has learnt registration, rules and and admin.
